Dr Don Gregory Mascarenhas hails from Puttur, a town 45km away from the coastal city of Mangalore. He has done his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College, MD in Pulmonary Medicine with a gold medal from GMC, Patiala, DNB in Pulmonology, Diploma in Allergy, & Asthma from CMC, Vellore and has a Fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology from Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad. He was Professor & Head of Dept of Respiratory Medicine in Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore until August 2024 and was the in charge of ICU during Covid 19 pandemic saving a lot of critical patients. He was instrumental in setting up Interventional Pulmonology at FMMC and has performed over 2500 bronchoscopies, 200 allergies testing and 150 advanced interventional procedures including Endobronchial Ultrasound, Cryobiopsy, Foreign body removal, Thoracoscopy and Tumor debulking.  He was one of the youngest Head of Department in India and has immensely contributed in research and publications of clinical work. He is a visiting consultant in all major hospitals of Mangalore.
